The fifth annual Champagne Party was held at the vast Planting Fields Arboretum State Historic Park on Friday, August 9th. The mansion was open for those who wished to explore the elaborate architecture and the back room and patio had various stations of fine foods and beverages that adjoined the dining tents. A few tables were set up as open bars where one can get champagne, sangria, Motown Lager and craft beer from the Oyster Bay Brewing Company (below left).

Creative hors d'oeuvres were served by Artaux Catering. There was meat-filled empanadas, chicken or shrimp with bell pepper on sticks (above right), seafood crabcakes served with a topping of cocktail sauce (below left), seafood crostini with a dallop of horseradish sauce (below right) and blue corn chips with guacamole. These delicious bites went faster than could be served.

Desserts included chocolate cake (above left), chocolate cake filled with mousse and cream (above right), New York style cheesecake topped with strawberry preserves, apple pie and assorted cookies and pastries. The cakes were unbelievably rich and the cheesecake was smooth and creamy.

City Sounds Motown Experience entertained guests with their lively performances (above left). The singer encouraged audience participation. Many got up to dance (above right). They sounded great and were lovely to watch. City Sounds provided a warm and friendly atmosphere. It was a lovely evening of music, dancing, champagne and scrumptious food.
