10th Annual Evening of Tasting & Giving
The Carltun at Eisenhower Park
Monday, October 6, 2014

The 10th Annual Evening of Tasting and Giving showcased local restaurants, bakeries and wineries at The Carltun at Eisenhower Park. The proceeds of this event went to the Michael Magro Foundation, a nonprofit organization founded by Terrie and Paul Magro in 2005 after the passing of their son, Michael, from childhood leukemia.

Guests were invited to indulge on the exquisite cuisine and drinks offered. The vendors, who have appeared yearly for this event, once again brought various delectable dishes for their esteemed guests to sample. In remembrance of Michael who loved penguins, there were stuffed penguins scattered about The Carltun.

With about 40 different restaurants, bakeries and wineries serving their finest, it was truly a night to remember. Local restaurants included Chadwick's, Chris & Tony's, Fatfish, Cirella's, Ciro's, West East Bistro, Piccola, Legal Sea Foods, J.Michaels, Tony Colombos, MB Bistro, West End Cafe, Jewel, The Farm House Kitchen, Sea Levels, Spuntino, Moca, aMano, Acqua, Mio Posto, Novita, Palm Court, Margarita's, and La Bottega. There was everything you could ask for from sushi rolls to empanadas to roasted duck.

When it came time for dessert, coffee, ice cream, cakes, cookies and other pastries were being served by local bakeries and dessert shops.

The night boasted a live auction, where attendees could win 1 week time share in Hawaii, 4 tickets to Motown the musical, 4 tickets to a Giants game or dinner for 6 by Chef Paul Magro himself.

An Evening of Tasting and Giving ended with a touching song that had everyone tearing up. This event continues to inspire thousands to support the Michael Magro foundation dedicated to helping children with cancer.
