7th Annual Spring Craft Beer Festival
Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum- Uniondale, NY
Saturday, March 9th, 2013

This year marked the 7th consecutive Annual Spring Craft Beer Festival, an event that has become wildly popular with beer lovers across Long Island and beyond. Held again at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, this festival always attracts a large gathering of enthusiasts eager to celebrate their love for all things beer. Tickets for both the day and evening sessions sold out through the online advance ticket purchasing, so be sure to keep that in mind when planning your trip to next year's festival, which will be on Saturday, March 8th, 2014.

If you are unfamiliar with the Spring Craft Beer Festival, attendees are given a 5 ounce souvenir cup with a 2 ounce pour line to sample tastings from over 50 of the best breweries in the country, offering over 100 different beers. The walls of the exhibition hall were lined with exhibitors and brewers, including Long Ireland, Blue Point Brewing Company, Monk's Cafe, Shock Top, Brooklyn Brewery, Angry Orchard, Curious Traveler, Samuel Adams, Montauk Brewing Company, Blue Moon and Killian's, just to name a few. The center of the hall had numerous tables to sit and enjoy the samplings with friends and fellow beer aficionados.

The pourers and brewers from local breweries and big name brands alike were happily willing to enlighten guests about their specific brews & spread the good word about their offerings, including amber ales, IPAs, doppelbocks, pilsners, stouts, hard ciders and much more. Click here for a complete listing of breweries in attendance, with some of their pictures to be found below this article. Also in attendance was Long Island's own Little Cigar Factory, offering some of their fine cigars to go along with the tasty brews (pictured below right).

As with the preceding events, this proved to be an enjoyable and informative affair, with something for everyone, even those that don't like beer. Make sure you get your tickets early to next year's event by checking their website here for information about availability. Don't want to wait until next spring to celebrate your affection for ales? The same great minds behind the Spring Craft Beer Festival also host the North Fork Craft Beer, BBQ, & Wine Festival, which will be held on Saturday, August 10th at the Martha Clara Vineyards. As with its spring counterpart, this is a popular event with two sessions that will likely sell out, so be sure to get your tickets early be purchasing them online at their website, available here.
