Taste That Jazz
The Carltun
Monday, April 4, 2016

Formerly Taste of Long Island, The Safe Center LI presented Taste That Jazz, this year's food, wine, beer, spirits, and dessert tasting event that featured a cornucopia of popular restaurants, caterers, breweries, and bakeries.

The Safe Center LI's mission is "To protect, assist and empower victims of family violence and sexual assault while challenging and changing social systems that tolerate and perpetuate abuse." Guests were welcomed to the Carltun in East Meadow to sample savory dishes while supporting this worthy cause.

April was Jazz Fest in New Orleans! To celebrate the music and style of the times, this year's event brought the cuisine, culture and fun to Long Island. Taste That Jazz shined a spotlight on a variety of cuisine, such as Creole, Cajun, French, Southern soul food, barbecue, and more. The event also highlighted some of Long Island's talented jazz vocalists and musicians, as well as promising chefs from a Long Island culinary school.

Everyone went home a winner that night, as all proceeds went to the charitable Safe Center LI and guests got the opportunity to indulge in delicious cuisine. Be sure to check the website for next year's date as everyone is invited to celebrate the persistent efforts of the Safe Center LI while enjoying samplings from local restaurants, breweries, and bakeries.
